In Search of Lake Endla

Lake Endla Paddling Adventure – Two Days Through the Reed Labyrinth and the Põltsamaa River Lake Endla is not a leisurely Sunday paddle. This is an active holiday for those who are ready to lose themselves in reed labyrinths before reaching their destination, tolerate the odd insect that calls the reeds home, and perhaps get a little stuck along the way. That is Endla in a nutshell. The reward is an overnight stay at the RMK Endla forest cabin, where a sauna, covered sleeping spots and a campfire evening await. On the second day, we cross Lake Endla once more and follow the Põltsamaa River downstream to the Kirikumäe campfire site, where the journey ends. Itinerary Day 1 – approx. 15 km (including 3–4 km on the lake) 10:00 – Meet at Uuesilla car park Car logistics and packing of equipment. 11:00–11:30 – Launch onto the water 13:00–14:00 – Lunch break at Tammemäe campfire site From here we set off towards Lake Endla. Tammemäe → Endla forest cabin: 2–3 hours 16:00–17:00 – Arrival at the forest cabin Sauna, campfire and dinner. Day 2 – approx. 18 km Breaking camp and departure at a pace that suits the group. A stop at Tammemäe after crossing the lake and a stretch paddling upstream on the Nava River. Then approximately 11 km along the Põltsamaa River to the Kirikumäe campfire site. Please note: Registration closes on the evening of 15 July to allow time to notify the Environmental Board.
